Some Free Time

So, this week I have actually managed to have quite a bit of free time.  I am not entirely sure how that happened considering I have started my fall cleaning, started redecorating my living room, and have been working on monthly grocery shopping lists, but somehow my children have allowed me some extra space throughout the past few days.

In my bizarrely unexpected free time, I started browsing through a whole slew of new blogs.  I have my favorites, of course, but I decided to branch out and look around to see how much wonderful talent, writings, ideas and humor I was missing.  With the help of Pinterest, StumbleUpon and voiceBoks Blogging Community, I found some amazing blogs that I spent far too many hours perusing.  I wanted to share some of these great works of writing with you:

A Country Farmhouse - Beautiful.  Simply beautiful.  A story of one couple's renovation journey, this blog is what inspired me to start redoing my living room out of the blue this week.
Growing Home - A blog about Christian living, homemaking and femininity, this site is filled with great tips including recipes, frugal living, gardening, menu plans and more.
The Bloggess - (Caution: Not family-friendly) You may have have heard of her.  I know I have.  But I have never had a chance to browse her blog until this week.  Her quirky humor had me in hysterics.  I do not recommend this site if you are easily offended or appalled, but I really enjoyed it for a good laugh.
A Slob Comes Clean - Nony the Slob takes you through an honest account of her day to day struggles of trying to "deslobify."  This site has some great cleaning tips, especially if you find cleaning to be quite a challenge, and offers a laugh along the way.
Adams Organizing - This website offers "a hand up, not a handout."  It is filled with some great tips and resources on getting your life back on track both financially and emotionally.
Riker Star Dresser Updates - Though this website is nothing new to me, I wanted to use this opportunity to give you an update on the Dresser's journey.  After a small setback requiring baby Riker to have her central line replaced and causing her transplant to be pushed back, she is still such a trooper and continues to fight every day.  She is scheduled to go in for her transplant on September 30th with her older sister as the donor.  Until then, the Dresser's get to enjoy their time with her in the comfort of their own home rather than at the hospital in which she has been living for three months.  Please continue to keep this little girl in your prayers and I encourage you to view this blog (always located on my sidebar) to follow her family's inspirational journey of strength.

I hope you enjoy checking out each of these sites.  A bit of an array of topics, all of the above blogs really captured my attention and have been added to my regular feed reader so I am sure to stay up to date on all that they offer.

Don't have an RSS feed reader?  I recommend the Google Reader.  Use it to capture all of your favorite blogs in one place for easy and efficient reading.  Once you sign up, feel free to add TheNorthForty to your feed!
