Homemade Cheese Crackers

This recipe is just too wonderful not to share. I originally found it on 100 Days of Real Food (such a wonderful blog!) and was blown away by how easy, healthy and tasty it is! My children love them and they take me minutes to whip up. No more Cheese Nips or Goldfish in this house!

Homemade Cheese Crackers
  • 1 c. whole wheat flour
  • 5 T. cold butter
  • 1-1/2 c. cheddar cheese, shredded
Cut the butter into 1 tablespoon slices. Throw all three ingredients into a food processor and blend until it turns into one big ball chasing itself around (may take a couple of minutes).

Roll the ball with your hands into a 1-1/2" diameter log. Slice about 1/4" thick using a sharp knife and place on an ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 14 minutes or until golden brown.

You can make a large batch and keep them in airtight containers or Ziploc bags for a couple of weeks or freeze them for longer, making them super convenient and frugal!
