All the holidays are now behind us. The gifts have been unwrapped, the vacations have ended and the New Year's Resolutions are in full swing. After all the money spent over the last couple of months, now is the time to really crack down and focus on some extreme savings.
Coincidentally, now is also one of the best times to frequent local thrift and second-hand stores.
Tons of people received gifts this year that were upgrades from items they all ready owned. A bunch more received items they cannot use, did not like, or do not need and are not returnable. Then there is the very large group of people that resolved themselves to organizing, de-cluttering and purging items in their homes.
Where do a lot of these old though still functioning items, new and nonreturnable gifts and purged objects wind up?
Second-hand stores!
So all this week, set yourself a strict budget (even great deals can break our banks if not properly controlled), check out my tips on successful second-hand shopping, and tackle every thrift store in your area all week long.
