American Chop Suey

On the menu I posted recently, you may have noticed the meal American Chop Suey.  This is an incredibly simple and cheap pasta recipe that I grew up on.  It is perfect for those last minute evenings when you have to rush to get something on the table.  While I don't recommend freezing this dish, it only takes about 20 minutes to make.

American Chop Suey
  • 1 box elbow macaroni noodles (I use 100% whole wheat)
  • 1/2 lb hamburger
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 1 can olives, chopped
Cook the macaroni as directed on package.  Brown and drain hamburger.  Combine all ingredients in a large bowl, stirring well.  Serve with Parmesan cheese, if desired.
See?  Simple.
