Daddy Dates by Greg Wright

Have you ever wanted someone to give you the secret to a great relationship with your daughters?  In Greg Wright's Daddy Dates he does just that.  As a married Christian father of four teenager girls (and one female dog), Wright shares with his readers his quest to become a better dad, learn who his daughters are as people, and strengthen his relationship with them through his unique gift: dating.

Wright realized young that he has always excelled in organizing the perfect dates for the women in his life; his past girlfriends, his wife, and now for his daughters.  By learning their likes and interests, he takes each daughter out on regular personality-specific date nights to nurture a strong bond and create open and honest communication, ultimately bringing him closer to his daughters than he ever imagined.

Written like a conversation with one of his buddies, this book is a very quick and easy read filled with humor and heartfelt emotion.  Though it is written in "man lingo," this book really speaks to any gender.  Wright creates a laid back feel as he shares his techniques for raising emotionally healthy and strong women.  He creates an easy go-to guide for dads who don't have a clue, including a personality quiz and date recommendations.

Despite the lack of organization of thoughts through the book clearly due to his inexperience in writing, it was certainly an enjoyable and emotional read.  As a mother of a little girl, it brought me to tears once or twice.  Though Wright's thoughts through the book are not necessarily organized like most mainstream authors, his conversational feel still captures and holds your attention and his genuine love for his daughters leaves you wanting more.  I highly recommend this book to any parent or daughter.
