Over time, our shower heads can start to accumulate build-up in the
little spray holes, sometimes plugging them and making the spray
uneven. A simple solution to this can be found by thinking back to your
school-age years when creating homemade volcanoes was the highlight of
your week.
To easily remove the build-up, add 2 tablespoons of
baking powder to a small plastic bag. Place the shower head in the bag
then pour in one cup of distilled vinegar. Close the bag and shake it
up until it is nice and fizzy. Allow the shower head to soak for 15 to
20 minutes. Remove it from the bag and rinse it thoroughly under warm
water. The fizz should clear out all the build-up in the holes.
If
your shower head cannot be removed, just add baking soda and vinegar in
a bag and place it over your shower head, holding it in place with a
rubber band.
To slow down future build-up, keep a bottle of half
water, half distilled vinegar in your bathroom. After each shower,
spray your shower head with the solution. No need to rinse or wipe.
Just allow it to air dry.
