I have reached the end of my Power Savings Month
and I would certainly call it a success. The pantry has dwindled, the
can has some extra cash in it, and we all still enjoyed delicious and
nutritious meals.
To remind you of my goal for the month, I planned on only spending $160 and putting $200 in our can. At mid-month, due to some pregnancy cravings, I had spent a total of $190, slightly above what I was hoping to spend for the month.
Since
then, I have purchased a couple of small items, including bagels and
cream cheese which proved to be a nagging craving that would not cease.
We did eat out a couple of times on our staycation, but that money
technically came out of our Vacation Fund.
All in all, I spent
$200 on groceries this month and put $160 in the can. Since I usually
spend between $250 and $300 in a month, I am considering my Power
Savings Month a success. Now, I will have to try it again when I am not
pregnant.
