Mock Baked Apple

A Healthier, Faster Alternative

Yesterday, I shared a delicious but high calorie baked apple recipe.  Sometimes it can be nice to indulge in unhealthy options, but for everyday cravings, it is good to have a lower calorie and convenient go-to option.  Here is a healthier and more convenient alternative to yesterday's recipe.

Mock Baked Apple
  • 1 apple, cored
  • 1/8 c. raisins
  • Dash of cinnamon
Place apple in a microwave-safe dish and fill the center with raisins.  Sprinkle cinnamon over the top.  Add a small amount of water to the bottom of the dish.  Cover and microwave on high for five to seven minutes or until apple is tender.

This makes a great snack to fill a sweet tooth at only about 150 calories.  Since it is ready in minutes, it is good for busier days.
