Shower Me With Ease

One of the most time-consuming and frustrating chores in my opinion is cleaning your shower curtain. Soap scum and grime so easily build up and yet scrubbing it clean can be messy and grueling. For the longest time, I would just purchase new shower curtains on a regular basis because it was easier than cleaning them.

The problem was my frugal side really cringed at the idea of constantly spending the money to replace a shower curtain that was in a great shape minus the build-up. So I decided to look for alternatives to make cleaning it easier and faster.

If you hate cleaning your shower curtain, look no further. This incredibly simple method works for fabric, plastic, and combination shower curtains with minimal time and energy necessary on your part:
  1. Take down the shower curtain, being sure to remove all the shower curtain rings.
  2. Set your washing machine on warm water (hot may melt the plastic).
  3. Add 1 cup baking soda (no detergent).
  4. Toss in your shower curtain for a full wash cycle.
  5. Hang back on the curtain rod to dry.
That's it! Your shower curtain will look just like new!

I have a completely plastic shower curtain with magnets at the bottom and this technique worked wonders for me without any damage to the curtain. I highly recommend giving it a try and enjoying a constantly clean shower curtain with almost no effort.
