Cleaning Check-In!

With a couple of new cleaning projects in the works, I wanted to check in with you to see how your month has been going.

A few weeks ago, I mentioned a new cleaning routine that I was going to implement and encouraged you to give it a shot too. If you recall, we were going to switch from cleaning one or two rooms a day to using one cleaning product a day instead.

The original schedule I tried did not work out for long. I found that the time I spent cleaning each day was very imbalanced, so I have readjusted it and am going to try again with an altered schedule:
  • Monday – Dusting (with a clean, damp rag) & Windexing (windows, mirrors and glass surfaces)
  • Tuesday – Ammonia - Half of the house (or your favorite disinfecting/washing product to use on floors, walls, bathrooms and various surfaces)
  • Wednesday – Vacuum (being sure to get every room, crevice and cranny)
  • Thursday – Ammonia - Second half of the house (when you add in floors, walls and bathrooms, this can be a big task, so this product requires two days)
  • Friday – Vacuum (because it never hurts to do it twice)
  • Weekend – Special family time! No cleaning allowed!
Because I could see some benefits to this method, I am going to try this new schedule for a couple of weeks to see if it works out any of the bugs from the first time around before I consider abandoning the idea. How is your one-product-a-day cleaning going? Do you like it so far?

Also, remember that we dedicated this cold month to sprucing up our walls. How has that been going for you? Are you sticking to your schedule? Have you noticed an improvement in the appearance of your rooms? Take this time to pull out your wall cleaning schedule and make any adjustments you need to in order to make the remainder of the month a success.

Let's keep up the great work and spring cleaning this year will seem so much simpler!
