Simply Valentine's Day

Today is a simple day in our home. There are no over-the-top traditions. No stocking up on candy, making late night dinner reservations, or splurging on jewelry and roses.

Today is just a day when we take an extra minute to remember what love is about, whether it is between a husband and a wife, a child and a parent or a brother and a sister.

Today we will snuggle up with the children to read Guess How Much I Love You. We will craft some hearts, birds and roses in honor of St. Valentine. My husband and I will reminisce about the days of our courtship and share a simple and endearing embrace as we cuddle with our newborn.

We will thank God for the love that we have in our home each and every day and vow to continue to show one another how we feel always.

In our home, Valentine's Day is not about cards, candies and flowers. It is a simple day in our simple lives with simple reminders of our love.

And we simply love it.
